A REAL Locksmith can and will be allowed to do a bank box. They have to have their license and insurance in order to do anything like that. We have done these and charge 150. The bank will charge you for the replacement of the lock.

Total approximately 200-250.

The bank will hire a locksmith and charge you. It's usually expensive, though.

The banks have a set fee. Ususally several hundred dollars. They won't let you just bring someone in and do it. They arrange it.

If it would fit into a POD then that would be your cheapest route. My daughter checked into all of the possiblities and found that to move her stuff nto a POD and have them ship and store it it would cost 1.100.00$ which is cheaper than to rent a truck to haul it herself!!!! She is moving from San Diego to Seattle WA.

When I moved from Portland, OR to Denver, CO it cost around $ 1200. We had everything packed, but they picked it up, warehoused it for a few days, then brought it and unloaded it. We did the unpacking too, so I'm not sure if your definition of full service includes the packing and unpacking.

Every time I move I hire mexicans by the bridge. I give them $ 15/day each person & buy everybody pizza & beer when the job is over (NEVER give them a break until the job is done or they will not get back to work). Be strict but fair with them.

It depends on the insurance. I got insurance through work and they had "no preexisiting condidtions". Most of them do, though and it is spelled out when you sign up. You will have to read the policy before to know for sure.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Locksmithing by Bill Phillips
* Locksmithing by Joseph E. Rathjen

* How to Really Start Your Own Business, Fourth Edition by David E. Gumpert
* How to Really Create a Successful Business Plan: Step-by-Step Guide by David E. Gumpert
* What No One Ever Tells You about Starting Your Own Business: Real-Life Start-Up Advice from 101 Successful Entrepreneurs (What No One Ever Tells You About Starting Your Own Business) by Jan Norman
* Business Start-Up Kit by Steven D. Strauss
* Start Your Own Business (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Up) by Rieva Lesonsky

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

I assure you it will be cheaper to go buy a new lockset with the key included. This is a good answer.

Gotta agree with TaSQ on this one. Open up your phone book and call around. Get a few estimates and go with the one that seems most reasonable.
